Greetings Nerf Nation! Deliberations are completed and after hours and hours of discussions we have finally found the winners of our Anniversary Giveaway. We were quite impressed with the inspiring and well thought out entries you all sent in. There were a few ideas that followed common themes which in all honestly we kinda expected, and it’s nice to know that so many of you share similar views as to the direction you would like to see Nerf go. It took a while but two bright shiny entries floated to the top, here they are in no particular order:
The Elite Mega Pilum submitted by James Zhu- The concept for this single shot pump action Mega Dart launcher is simple and elegant in execution. As seen in the picture below, “It has a trigger set very far back on the blaster and rear Nerf stock attachment point and comes with a faux wooden stock.” But that’s only where the fun begins; the top tactical rail attachment is described as being inverted similar to the rail on the Titan that the Scout slides into. “This allows instant integration of Pilum onto any tactical rail equipped blaster once its stock is removed.” The Pilum took a popular discussion piece and gave us a practical application for a dual purpose blaster.
The Elite Mega Executioner submitted by Matthew Corrigan – One common thread between the entries was removable dart cylinders. The concept for the Executioner goes one step further and truly makes that mechanic the focal point of the blaster. “The barrel has a break in the end of the cylinder to have it pulled out. The break release button is located or the left side of the blaster.” The cylinder holds 5 Mega Darts and can be slit out when empty after the break so you can reload with ease.
Congratulations Matthew and James!! You should be receiving your Elite Pinpoint Sights (one for each of you) in good time! We want to thank all of you for participating in our Giveaway. We hope you had fun making your entries.
As of 12:00 am CST this morning we have stopped taking submissions for our 50th episode Anniversary Giveaway. Thank you all for your time and effort in preparing your entries! It’s going to be a lot of fun going through them We are currently deliberating and all that fun stuff and will be back to you soon with and update. As promised we will announce the winners along with our new episode of The AFoN Show next week!!
That’s right folks, there are only a few short hours left to get your submissions in for our Anniversary Giveaway! Get your entries in by 11:59 pm CST tonight (Wednesday January 29th 2014) for your chance to win one of two Elite Pinpoint sights. For complete contest details go here.
We just released our 50th Episode of the AFoN Show on January 8th, and the AFoN website will be turning 5 years old on June 19th! In honor of our anniversaries we’ve decided to have a contest. We have TWO, yes TWO Elite Pinpoint sights to give away!
For this giveaway, you’ll have to design the next big blaster. The Slingfire is cool, but it’s not the big bad blaster this year, so if you had a chance to design the next big blaster; what would it be?¹ Be creative and use your imagination, but be realistic. Write something up and send your entry to email@example.com (please don’t post entries in the comments, but questions are welcome).
Be sure to include (at least):
- Blaster Name
- Unique feature(s)
- Ammo Type (must be an existing ammo type)
- Description and/or drawing (drawings will not increase your chance of winning).
- Don’t use the build-a-blaster app on Nerf.com, we want something unique.
The giveaway will end on January 29th, 2014 at 11:59pm Central Standard Time. After the giveaway, we’ll deliberate on the two best entries while taking in to consideration the creativity, practicality, and overall idea behind the blaster. This is a worldwide giveaway so no matter what country you’re in, you can win!
Winners will be announced on February 5th along with the release of our 52nd episode of the AFoN Show.
If you haven’t already, stop by and subscribe to our YouTube Channel as well! (It won’t make your odds of winning any better, but it can’t hurt!)
1. Nerf is not sponsoring this contest, so none of your ideas will be made in to real blasters. That would be awesome, but the Nerf design team doesn’t solicit ideas from fans for legal reasons.
We had quite a few entrants into our first Nerf Giveaway, and we’re very proud to announce the winners, chosen by a super scientific name-from-a-hat drawing method. First up, the winner of the LongStrike CS-6:
Thomas W. of Pennsylvania
And the winner of the Capture the Flag set is:
Jasa M. of Oregon
We definately had fun with this giveaway, and you can be sure that we’ll do more in the future, some even open to our international friends as well!
Send your name and postal address to: firstname.lastname@example.org by tomorrow at midnight (March 26th) and we’ll draw two names on Saturday, March 27th. The first name gets the LongStrike, and the second gets the Capture the Flag Set! They will be sent directly from our friends at Nerf once we contact the winners and send their information in. Unfortunately this giveaway is available to US and Canadian Citizens only!
